Safety instructions with self-declaration

At Arendal RIBsafari, we conduct our tours with several different vessels, all of our vessels meet the requirements for safety equipment.

• You actively contribute to reducing risks by how you behave on board.
• A boat adventure can never be completely risk-free and involves things like jumping on waves, driving at speeds over 30 knots, and driving in formation. Therefore, read carefully before you sign electronically.
• The boat is equipped with a raft suited to its capacity.
• If you use a flotation suit, make sure it is properly fastened. Tighten cuffs and belt, and check the release mechanism on the life jacket. We assess the weather and wind to decide whether we use flotation suits. If the weather is fine, we only use life jackets.
• At high speeds, put pressure on your legs. Do not sit heavily on your bottom. Hold on with both hands. Do not change seats while in motion.
• Keep your head up. Do not bend down into the boat or toward your fellow passengers. Keep an eye on the sea and the conditions around you – Expect sudden and unexpected movements on the water.
• Look after your fellow passengers and check if they are okay. Immediately alert if someone is scared or uncomfortable. If someone falls overboard, immediately alert and do not lose sight of them.
• If you have or have had issues with your knees, back, or neck, inform us and write it down when signing.
• Pregnant individuals or people with back or neck injuries cannot participate. Intoxicated individuals cannot participate.
• If the skipper is seriously injured, a pre-agreed person (Co-skipper) will take over as responsible. This person should know how to start/steer the boat.
• Everyone should know where the emergency plan, emergency and first aid equipment is located, and how it works. (VHF, Fire extinguisher, Flares, Drift anchors, ropes, throw lines/buoy.)
• In an emergency situation, no one should leave the boat or their seats before the skipper gives instructions. If you must leave the boat, for example due to fire, everyone should stay together in a group.

By signing, I understand that participation is voluntary and under my own responsibility and risk beyond what is covered by the applicable marine insurance/passenger liability insurance. Mobile phones, cameras, laptops, glasses etc. are not covered by insurance and are brought at your own risk.

The trip takes place in Norwegian waters and the boat thus comes under Norwegian jurisdiction. Norwegian law applies in the event of any accidents/damages.
